No trip to Vietnam is complete without a visit to the iconic HaLong Bay. There are a number of viewpoints where you can catch a glimpse of those stunning limestone karsts, and there is one in particular that is really popular. This one, however, is somewhat of a secret, and involved a pretty strenuous hike to reach it; however this incredible view from the top did not disappoint!
To get to this viewpoint, you will need to stay on Cat Ba Island. Cat Ba is the largest island amid the Ha Long Bay archipelago. This island is a favourite among nature lovers and boasts plenty of incredible Instagram spots!

3. Long Bien Bridge, Hanoi
Hanoi is one of the most instagrammable locations in Vietnam, offering several unique and dynamic photo opportunities. This spot here is one of our favourites in the city. We just love the industrial and moody feel we were able to create. Do you agree?
Anyhow, while this is an epic spot for a photo, be sure to check the train timetables first. We assumed that the tracks were not in use, but it turned out we were wrong. Thankfully, we didn’t run into any issues; however, it was a school girl error that taught us a lesson for the future.

4. Train Street, Hanoi
Train Street in Hanoi, is not only an Instagram hot spot, but also provides a fascinating insight into local culture. The train tracks pass through a narrow residential street, where locals, live, work, and play. A high-speed train passes through twice a day during the week (more at weekends), and residents have to ensure that all of their belongings and themselves are safely inside… It’s fascinating to watch!

7. Dragon Tower, Abandoned Water Park, Hue
The abandoned water park in Hue, otherwise known as Thuy Tien Lake, is such a cool spot for taking unique and urban photos. It’s also one of the most adventurous things to do in Vietnam, and involves illicitly entering the grounds of the park.
Don’t worry, it isn’t as illegal as it sounds! Many people get away with bribing the guards in order to enter. We managed to swerve them when we visited; however, I feel we were the lucky ones!
Nevertheless, we would say that the small bribe is more than worth it for this extraordinary Vietnam Instagram spot!

The rice fields are worth visiting at any time of the day; however, for that gorgeous golden hour glow, we recommend visiting for sunrise or sunset.
The best way to navigate the narrow paths within the rice fields is by bicycle, which are available to rent all over the city. Some guesthouses also provide them free of charge to guests.
If you are using google maps, search for Nguyen Trai Street to find the nearest rice fields, and then cycle around to find your perfect spot.

Often when you travel, you see things that completely blow your mind. It’s natural to want to take pictures of the locals, their homes, or their cute kids.
