Double Six Beach in Bali, is a 500-metre stretch of bay located in the Seminyak area. It came to be one of our favourite beaches in Bali thanks to the beautiful sunsets that take place there most evenings.
The beach is popular among guests of the nearby hotels, beginner surfers, and local families. And although not exclusively an LGBT-friendly beach in Bali, it is especially popular among the LGBT community.
In this guide, we share our experience at Double Six Beach in Bali, so you can decide whether it’s worthy of your Bali Itinerary. Â

How to Get to Double Six Beach in Bali
Located South West of the island, Double Six Beach Bali is easily accessible from Canggu or Kuta. We drove a scooter from Ubud, and the journey was approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes each way. Â
To rent a scooter in Bali is around 60,000 IDR per day. This is the cheapest and easiest way to travel around Bali. Â
Alternatively, if you are not comfortable driving a scooter, you can use a local taxi or Grab Taxi. The latter tends to be the cheaper option.

Our Experience at Double Six Beach Bali
Upon arriving at Double Six Beach late one afternoon, we were pleasantly surprised to find the vast stretch of beach relatively quiet. While a number of hotels, bars and restaurants adorn the coastline, the golden sand beach doesn’t feel touristy at all. You are most likely to find residents of the island walking their dogs.  Or beginner surfers taking to the waves. Â
The waves were pretty fierce the day we were there. So we can understand why not too many people use the beach for relaxing. Thankfully we were not looking to swim this day. We had heard the beach was the perfect spot to watch the sunset.  And we teamed up with some friends to watch the spectacle unfold.
What makes this beach stand out from others in Bali, is the mesmerising reflections that are created during golden hour. Without trying to sound too technical, (because I have no idea of the science behind it).  When the sun sets, it radiates a magical light over the wet sand, resulting in a striking mirrored effect. Â
Avid photographers will swoon over this location at golden hour. You can create some pretty unique photos in these conditions.  And this is why we feel Double Six is a strong contender for one of the most instagrammable spots in Bali.

The guys that collect the 2000 IDY parking fees, are they legit government parking officials? What happens if you don’t pay?
Hi Brad.
The parking charges are legit in this area I believe.
We’ve never not paid so wouldn’t know the consequences.
For the small fee, I would say it’s probably not worth finding out!
Hope this helps!
