If you are looking for the best vegetarian restaurants in Udaipur, you’ve come to the right place. We recently spent quite a lot of time in the ‘city of lakes’, and as with most of our trips, a massive part of our experience was finding all the best places to eat.
While we aren’t full-fledged vegetarians 100% of the time, in India, we never eat meat. Mainly because eating meat is a sure-fire way of getting sick in India, but also because it’s much cheaper to eat veggie.
Thankfully, a large proportion of the Indian population is vegetarian, so it is never a struggle to find meat-free dishes on any menu. Unlike other countries in Asia where they will try to sneak you a bit of chicken or fish in your vegetarian meal, in India, you can be 99.9% confident you’re getting the meatless dish you’ve requested.
After eating our way through the best vegetarian restaurants in Udaipur, we’ve collated this comprehensive list of our favourites. While we always tend to eat on a budget, I’ve also included some premium options for good measure.

Catering to both vegans and vegetarians, Millets of Mewar is hands down one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Udaipur.
The extensive menu provides a variety of choice, and each dish we tried was unique, well-presented, and bursting with flavour.
The restaurant prides themselves on using fresh and organic produce to create an exciting, global cuisine.
Along with the delectable food, the relaxing ambience makes this the perfect spot for chilling out of an evening. The cooking classes here also come highly recommended.
Recommended Dishes: Pad Thai, Indian Tacos, Veg Biryani, Mewar Cookies, Shakes & Lassis
Grasswood Cafe $ – @grasswoodcafe
Grasswood cafe is one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Udaipur, and our go-to breakfast spot every morning.
With options for both vegetarian and vegans, the simple menu is both healthy and affordable. The owner is a fitness fanatic and nutritionist, so he knows all the secret recipes to keep you in shape.
As well as the incredible food, the coffee is some of the best we found in the city. You also have to try their delicious, guilt-free desserts!
Recommended Dishes: Homemade Peanut Butter Toast, Muesli & Fruit with Curd, Toasted Sandwiches, Oreo Shake, Vegan Brownie
Namaste Cafe $$
If you have a big appetite, Namaste Cafe is the restaurant to go where you can fill your boots.
While the menu isn’t entirely vegetarian, there is a wide variety of vegetarian dishes to choose from. Each meal comes highly stacked, so you’re sure not to leave hungry.
Namaste Cafe isn’t one of the popular restaurants in Udaipur; however, what attracted us was their unlimited Thali offer. You can refill as many times as you like and it’s the best thing on the menu.
Providing a spectacular view over Lake Pichola, Namaste Cafe is the perfect spot to enjoy a sunset meal. We recommend eating on the rooftop, where fairy lights of an evening create a magical ambience.
Recommended Dishes: Unlimited Thali, Unlimited Rajasthan Thali, Malai Kofta, Vegetarian Masala
Yummy Yoga $$ – @yummyyogaudaipur
As the name suggests, you can look forward to some yummy vegan and vegetarian food at Yummy Yoga – one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Udaipur.
The menu is exciting and diverse, with unique dishes such as ‘pink pasta’ and ‘pumpkin curry’. You can also rely on the waiters here to make superb recommendations every time.
Of a day time, you can take shelter from the heat in the relaxing lounge area downstairs. Or at night, take in the pleasant ambience from the rooftop with lakeside views.
Recommended Dishes: Pumpkin Curry, Pink Pasta, Paneer Curry
Fresh Food Cafe $
Fresh Food Cafe may be a small and modest restaurant in Udaipur, but they serve some of the best vegetarian food in the city.
No request is too big at this charming establishment, and they will happily cater to all diets and tastes without complaint.
We consider Fresh Food Cafe to be somewhat of a hidden gem in Udaipur. It’s your typical no-frills restaurant; however, for a delicious, wholesome, and affordable meal, you can’t go wrong.
Recommended Dishes: Any Indian Dish.
Cafe 1O9 $
If you are going to cheat on Grassword Cafe for breakfast and coffee, it has to be with Cafe 1O9.

Hello Boho Lakeside Restaurant $$
Lunch or dinner with a view? Yes, please.
While not a vegetarian restaurant in Udaipur per se, Hello Boho serve a variety of delicious vegetarian options. Combine that with captivating lakeside views, and it’s one of our favourite spots in the city.
The menu is diverse and exciting, so you never know quite how your meal is going to prepared. Nevertheless, it’s alway delicious so you can relax while the talented chefs prepare your meal from scratch.
Recommended Dishes: Indian Combos, Malai Kofta, Pink Pasta, Fresh Juices
Khamma Ghani $$$
Located away from the hustle & bustle of central Udaipur, Khamma Ghani offers a fine dining experience on Rang Sagar Lake.
While they don’t only cater to vegetarians, you can be sure of a delicious veggie meal and a variety of choices.
One of the highlights of this restaurant is the captivating lakeside views. We recommend visiting in the evening for a magical ambience.
Recommended Dishes: Any Local Dishes.
Jheels Ginger Coffee Bar & Bakery $$
Last, but by all means not least, Jheels Coffee Bar & Bakery is one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Udaipur.
We loved visiting this restaurant when we fancied a break from Indian food. Whereas most restaurants in India just can’t seem to nail western food, Jheel’s did not disappoint.
The restaurant itself spans across 3-4 floors, and each level provides a great view over Lake Pichola.
With such a great vibe and menu, we’d often find ourselves here all-day working. For digital nomads, it’s the perfect spot.
Recommended Dishes: Woodfire Pizzas, Pasta Dishes, Shakes & Lassis.
