ABOUT US

Who are Our Taste For Life?

Hi! We are Charlotte & Natalie. A lesbian couple of 5 years originally from the UK. After spending over 2 years travelling full time, we are utilising our experiences to build our blog ‘Our Taste For Life’. You can read about how we met here, it all began on Valentine’s day.

Our combined passions include travel (of course), food, reading, and wellness. When we are on the road, you will often find us immersed in new cultures (like India), surrounded by nature (like Bali), or taking on a challenging adventure (like the time we trekked to Annapurna Base Camp). Other times, we find ourselves a cosy base for a month or two and throw ourselves into work. Work that ultimately brings this blog to life. Click here if you’re looking to work with us.

We love the freedom, wisdom, and excitement that travel brings to our lives. Its opened up doors upon doors of opportunity, as well as giving life a whole new meaning. I won’t have you throw up with quotes like ‘travel helps you to find yourself’ and ‘to travel is to live’. But, everything cliche they say about travel is pretty much true.

Before we get into what you can expect from our blog, let’s have a quickfire round of ‘get to know us better’. Just a bit of fun so you can know a bit more about us. And if you want to get involved, we’d love for you to send us your answers too!

What are our brand values?

We believe that travel is for everyone. Naturally, travelling as a lesbian couple, we have the first-hand experience to give help and advice to other LGBT travellers. However, we also believe in inclusivity. We don’t feel there should be any ‘us’ and ‘them’. For that reason, we want to provide the resources that will help enrich anybody’s travel experience, regardless of your sex, race, religion, age, or sexual orientation.

Why ‘Our Taste For Life’?

When choosing a name for our blog, we wanted something that wasn’t necessarily limited to travel. Our hearts and souls go into the work we do here. What’s more, we want our work to be a part of us, not just something that we do.

We feel that Our Taste for Life reflects that. This is our life, and we want to share it with you. From the places we go, the food we eat, and the things we love… It’s all right here in this blog.

What can I expect from this blog?

Our blog is a combination of story-telling, reliable advice, recommendations, and honest reviews.   Our goal is to enrich your travel experience and help you to plan the trip of your dreams.

While we always strive to be positive in our blog posts, if we don’t like somewhere or we had a bad experience, you can rely on us to be honest with you guys.  Just as we would with our friends, we will always keep it real.

Throughout our blog posts, you will find various recommendations for hotels, tours, products, and experiences.  By booking through these links, we will make a small commission ranging from 5% to 10%. You will pay the same amount as if you had visited the site directly and it helps us to maintain the site.

Having said that, we will only ever recommend brands, services, or products that we ourselves use and can recommend.

Welcome to our community.

Who is this blog for?

LGBT homies, we have your back. We’ve travelled to Gay-friendly destinations, off the beaten path, and to places where homosexuality is still illegal. In our ‘Gay In’ and ‘Lesbian In’ series, we share all of our tips and experiences to ensure you have an amazing, but most importantly, a safe, trip of a lifetime!

*Our guarantee – We have personally contacted all hotel recommendations to ensure they accept gay travellers. We have researched the full low down on the legal & social situations, so you can be fully prepared. If there’s a local gay scene, we know about it and will direct you where you need to go.

Other than that, this blog is for the adventurous, the brave, and the curious. It’s for those seeking authentic travel experiences and moments that take your breath away. Our ‘Lost In’ series takes you off the beaten path, as well as finding hidden gems in popular destinations.

Is this blog only for the LGBT community?

Of course not. Like travel, our blog is for everyone. While we share a lot of tips & advice for the LGBT travel community, most of our recommendations in regards to where to stay, things to do, what to eat etc. apply to everybody.

In fact, LGBT travel advice is just a slice of the pie that makes up our blog.  Our Taste For Life features articles on the following topics.

  • Couple Travel
  • Budget Travel
  • Female Travel
  • Responsible Travel
  • Adventure & Wellness Travel
  • In-depth LGBT Travel Guides
  • Comprehensive Destination Guides
  • Suggested Itineraries & Trip Planning
  • ‘Off the Beaten Path’ Travel and Hidden Gems

Well, that’s all for now. If you have any questions about any of the destinations we have visited, feel free to contact us or leave us a comment in our articles.

Don’t forget to follow our adventures here!

Stay Adventurous & Happy Travels,
